The charities
Hospice of Central Iowa is the state’s oldest and largest community-based hospice care provider.
Founded in 1978, its staff and volunteers care for over 1,400 patients and their families annually in 34 central, south central, and southeast Iowa counties. Many of these patients were served at the Kavanagh Houses and other Hospice of Central Iowa locations.
Gifts from individuals, corporations and organizations last year enabled the Hospice of Central Iowa Foundation to provide more than $350,000 in financial assistance to patients and families in hospice care. Funds raised through The Healing Field® will help ensure peace of mind for patients and families who are on the end-of-life journey.
The Funeral Service Foundation (FSF) is a national public grantmaking organization whose mission is, through charitable gifts and grants, to provide resources for:
- Career and professional development
- The support of funeral service and allied professions
